2009 SIWAWER FESTIVAL             

GUIDELINES FOR THE SONGWRITING CONTEST

1. The songwriting contest for a Vintar Hymn is open to all interested Vintarinians.

2. The lyrics must be in the Iluko dialect, simple and easy to understand. It should be an embodiment of the ideals and asspirations,
     customs and heritage of the town in general.

3. The tempo must be eclectic for the young and old to appreciate and enjoy.

4. The hymn may be sung for 2 to 3 minutes in acapella or with accompaniment; e.g. guitar, piano violin or any combination of
      instruments.

5.   The entry must be submitted in three(3)copies together with an accompanying tape or compact disc on or before May 15, 2009
      to the Siwawer Festival Secretariat. Announcement of winners will be on June 12, 2009, a feature during the Independence Day
      celebration.

6. The criteria for judging are as follows:

      Originality - 50%

      Melody - 20%

      Time and Rhythm - 10%

      Relevance - 20%

      Total 100%

7. The winning entry will become the property of the municipality and reserves all the rights to subject the same for further
      refinement by a professional arranger, if deemed necessary. However, the municipality gurantees the patenting of the winning
      entry and the composer shall retain ownership and claim over the composition.

8. Handsome prizes will be awarded to the lucky winners.
