Activities for the 17^th NSM Celebration

In preparation for the celebration of the 17^th National Statistics Month (NSM), the national and local government agencies, colleges and universities and private sectors in Ilocos Norte convened at the Provincial Capitol on August 22, 2006. The group discussed the different activities to be undertaken in the said celebration which will be a month-long celebration in October 2006.

The following are the activities to be done during the celebration:

PUBLIC AWARENESS. The different activities for the NSM and some concerns on statistics will be discussed through radio interview on October 2, 2006 at DWFB, Radyo ng Bayan, Laoag City.

HANGING OF STREAMERS. Streamers depicting the theme of the NSM celebration will be solicited from the different establishments and these will be hanged infront of the Ilocano Heroes Hall and infront of the different offices from October 1-31, 2006.

STATISTICS QUIZ. Statistics quiz for the secondary and tertiary levels will be done on October 18, 2006 at the Provincial Capitol Auditorium. Cash prizes will be given to the top three contestants for each category.

PRESENTATION OF ILOCOS NORTE PROVINCIAL PROFILE. A profile of the province covering its demographic and economic characteristics was prepared and this will be presented on October 18, 2006 at the Provincial Capitol Auditorium.

EXHIBIT. An exhibit will be done at the provincial capitol lobby in which the different agencies of the province will display the different results of surveys and censuses and other statistics regarding their respective agencies. The exhibit will be done form October 1-31, 2006.
