Hello everybody,
I am happy to report that we now have a closure on the VCES Computer Project. Before the end of this week,
NORCOM has installed 10 computers in the Nagtalon building. A thorough testing of the PCs followed after installation.
Also, an internet connection was tested. They are now operable and are ready for the school children
to use them.
NORCOM with a highly skilled technical team led by Mitzie Tan Delos Santos and with the help of our own
computer technician, Marlou Agcaoili, deliverered this IT solution based on VCES school children's needs. With
Marlou's guidance, she utilized the latest computer hardware, software and advances in communication and
security technologies to deliver increased network productivity and provide an optimal solution to VCES IT needs.
The model is a server driven network. The 10 PCs are connected to a server that utilizes common printer & other
peripheral devices with future expansion in mind.

Within the boundaries of our financial resources which you generously contributed, this is the most efficient and
cost effective network solution we can provide for VCES. Also, Marlou has offered his services to support the
network during downtime periods, waving his fees.
I have included a list of names that contributed to this project and a running financial statement in detail. As a
footnote, the expenditures are still work in progress, because other unforseen needs are cropping up, such as
fixing the room ceiling to prevent dusts engulfing the computers. These are minor nuisances and are not show
stoppers.

This is the VCES team that we assembled to make this project a success:
Cecilia Aribuabo - VCES president, whose foresight allowed us to start the project.
Julius Leano - VCES VP, who represented VCES in our dealings with NORCOM.
Marlou Agcaoili - Our computer expert who carried single handedly the last leg of the project.
Mitzie DeLos Santos - Owner of NORCOM.
Sirikit Tunac - Our guide in Laoag.
Nelia Tunac - She discovered Marlou.
Yours truly, Maritess Borja.
I want to thank you all for your generous contributions to make this project a success. In behalf of the VCES
school children, we wish you all a happy and prosperous New Year.
